This watercolour painting measures 490mm by 375mm and is in a plain gold frame that is 760mm by 660mm.

McKay Sunshine Harvester

The subject is an old tractor drawn McKay Sunshine harvester that was operated through the Power Take Off (P.T.O.) drive from the tractor.

As the wheat, oats or barley was harvested it was augured into bags where two people would be standing on a platform on the other side of the harvester.  One person would be setting empty bags onto hooks under the augur to catch the grain, while the second person would be moving full bags to the back of the platform.

Once the platform was fully laden with full bags, the harvest would stop and and the bags unloaded in "bag dumps" ready to have the tops sewn together, ready for loading onto trucks and carted to rail sidings.

This painting has been framed in a plain gold frame under an off-white matt.   A "Gallery Quality" glass protects it from the environment and allows a crystal clear view of the painting while minimising external reflections.  This glass is expensive !!

I am offering this painting at a reduced price simply because there is a small chip on the top right hand side and a small "compression" dent on the lower left outside.  I am also prepared to offer this painting without the frame (and glass), again at a reduced cost (and naturally, a reduced shipping cost).

For close up photos of the frame damage, please ask using the form below.
